Everything Elvis Fundraiser
We know a few dads that are wild about the “King of Rock”! If that fits you or someone you know, the Elvis Lives Celebration would be a great event to have fun and give back to the community. The Manship Theater is putting the “fun” into a fundraiser and hosting an evening of food, drink, and entertainment to raise money for the arts. You’ll be able to witness the best Elvis tribute artist, Dwight Icenhower, a Vegas-style Variety Show, and tour Elvis-themed rooms. If that all sounds fine and dandy, you can purchase tickets for early entry at 6:00 pm or regular entry at 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 18th.
Festival for Sporty Families
Louisiana’s largest outdoor show will occur all of Father’s Day weekend, from Friday, June 17th through Sunday, June 19th. The Sportsman Show and Festival will be a massive hit with sports enthusiasts and anyone looking to have a good time outdoors with food, music, and family. Starting at noon on Friday, attendees can see a dog show and a fishing demonstration. On Saturday, the main attraction will be a live concert by Adam Pearce from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Then, enjoy the performance of Dominick Michael on Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 pm. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate, adult tickets are $12, and tickets for kids between the ages of 6 and 12 are $6. Children ages five and under are free! This event will take place at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
Extreme Water Skiing Performances
The whole family will be amazed by the Professional Extreme Water Sports Competition and Show! Louisiana’s only water sports festival will be on Saturday, June 18th at 5:00 pm. So pile everyone in the car and head to the Tri-lakes, Home of Bennett Water Ski and Wakeboard School in Zachary, 15 minutes from downtown Baton Rouge, for an evening of food and entertainment. You’ll be able to see water ski jumping and tricks and enjoy food and drinks from food stalls. Hurd’s Studs will be selling refreshing lemonade and other fruity, cold drinks. You won’t have to work over a hot grill because The Bean Dip Factory will serve the best tacos and Mexican dishes like tamales, nachos, and quesadillas. There will be something for everyone to enjoy eating because Porsche’s Cajun Foods will have burgers, sandwiches, and more. Admission is free, and the cost to park is $25.
Live Show for Country Music Fans
There’s nothing more fun than dancing and listening to live country music! So come out to downtown Livingston for the hottest local country music acts for a night of great entertainment for the whole family. So shake off the stress, show off your dance moves, or enjoy the show. Starting on Saturday, June 18th at 7:00 pm, the event “Your Hometown Branson Show” will be performing every third Saturday this summer at the Suma Crossing Theater. You can get tickets at the door, adults cost $15, and the kids can get in for 10$ unless they’re younger than three years, then they can get in for free.
Theater Showing of Shrek The Musical
Your whole family will be roaring with laughter and endlessly entertained with the showing of Shrek The Musical! You will love this live performance based on the 2001 Dreamworks animated film. So now you can see all those beloved characters brought to life and featuring brand new songs. This Tony award-winning fairy tale adventure begins with an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey with a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Shrek will amaze you with a heartwarming story, a fire-breathing dragon puppet, and the moral of the story that beauty is in the eye of the ogre. The show opens on Friday, June 17th at 7:30 pm at the Theatre Baton Rouge. Tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for children ages 17 and under.
