There are so many options to attend events and activities both indoors and outside for the whole crew. Whatever sparks the magic for your employees, there will definitely be something festive for them to do in Baton Rouge.
The Nutcracker
The first thing that is on our list to definitely see is The Nutcracker by the Baton Rouge’s Ballet Theater. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this absolute holiday classic, The Nutcracker tells the captivating story about a young girl who befriends a toy nutcracker. Then, on Christmas Eve the nutcracker comes to life and wages an epic battle against an evil mouse king. This classic holiday tale is told through dance and music and is great for all ages.
You will be able to catch this performance at the Raising Cane’s River Center Ballroom on December 18th and 19th. With shows in both the afternoon and evening at 2 and 6 p.m., there is definitely time to squeeze it into your holiday schedule. Tickets range from $30 to $65 and can be purchased by calling the ticket office at 225-766-8379. Masks for attendees are optional, however, the situation may change by the date of the performance.
Ice Skating

Light Shows
One of the best ways to spread cheer is to take a drive around and see the lights and decorations. Why not pile the kids in the car for a safe and easy holiday tradition? The drive-through light show at Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland offers a synchronized LED show set to the classic favorite Christmas songs. The show runs through January 6th so there is plenty of time to see the lights. Pop over between dusk and 10:00 pm.
Looking for more opportunities to see the lights? Everyone will enjoy walking or driving through the annual Reflections of the Season in West Baton Rouge. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, from treats and shopping to visiting Santa and playing games. This event runs from December 14-16th and December 20-23rd.
After you’ve visited those light displays and are still hungry for more, head over to the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. They will transform their lawn into a musical light show complete with candy canes, snowmen, gingerbread kids, and more than 400,000 lights! Check it out anytime after work until December 31st.
A Country Christmas
Gather your work buddies for a feel-good, country Christmas day at the taproom! It’s also time to dig out your Christmas sweater from the depths of your closet because this free event will offer a complimentary beer to anyone who dons a festive Christmas sweater! Live music will entertain you with fun songs and the food truck Creole Creations will be there as well. Plus, you can get in some last-minute Christmas present shopping at the Tin Roof Brewing on Saturday, December 18th between 12 and 4 p.m.
Eat Out
Celebrate the season with live music and Italian gelato at La Divina Italian Cafe on Thursday, December 23rd from 6 to 8 pm.
